The Last Song

I don’t know how to say this, but I’m going to, even though I’m missing words. But it’s hard for me to know where to begin or end, so I’m just gonna say it as it is. I’m closing Stardoll Fashion Forward. There, I said it.

I guess I owe this blog a lot, it has been a hell of a journey, with ups and downs. It’s been a constant thing in my stardoll life for such a long time, it’s like my blogging home, my shelter, where I can always return no matter what. I remember when Lou closed the blog, and I was mad at her for it, I guess I somehow knows how it feels like now. Well I’m not gonna play the almighty Emma here, but it’s hard for me to close this thing, but it’s neccesary. You can all sit there and say “baha, you said it yourself, it’s been closed before, it’ll be back” Not with me in the leed it won’t.

I’m going to be less on Stardoll, I guess you can say that I’m somewhat leaving, I’m starting at a new school and there’s gonna be a lot of things happening with my life. Exicting things. That is my reason, if you do need to ask, I’m closing this blog cause wether you realise it or not, it takes a lot of my spare time. Don’t worry though, I will have two blogs that I will contunie to write on when needed, and I will still have Fierce. Now don’t you feel hurt, this was a not an easy decision! But sometimes you have to make a choice, and I as I said, I love SFF, but I have bigger things in my life right now. Ouch.

Stardoll Fashion Forward has sang it last song, but before I go, I want to give huge thanks to: Joy, Olivia, Sarah, Charlotte, X, Cassandra, Keisha and mainly, Lou.

Make It Or Fake It

So in my last post I let you know that we are going to have ‘Make It Or Fake It’ competitions as a regular part of this blog. At the beginning of every month SFF will present to you the look that you need to recreate, and not only will you be recreating the outfit, but the entire look, including makeup, hair, and accessories. You will always have two weeks from the day the look is posted to create your look except for this months, because well its already the middle of the month So shall we get to it?

Here’s what you need to do:

Marchesa Resort 2011

Recreate the above look by using one of the following options:

• Make it: use items from your suite, starplaza, minishop, wherever you choose to recreate the look on your medoll
• Fake it: create a graphic of the look

Print screen your look, upload it to tinypic, and post the link with your username in comments.

Two winners (depending on which option you choose) will share a prize of 500 stardollars (one month SS membership for non SS winners)
This months competition ends Sunday July 25th
We will be judging the entries based on how well your look resembles Marchesa’s gorgeous creation, easy shapes with a lot of attitude, it doesn’t get any better than that But please keep in mind that it’s not just about the outfit but how the outfit is done, be creative and of course, have fun!

Must Buy Shoes

Last week I posted the DKNY clothes that were released, well they have finally released the shoes that go with the outfit and they are pretty darn fabulous. They are only $5 AND non-SS, couldn’t get better than that!

Aaah it’s kinda nice to be back to something familiar because the new stardoll make-over that IS OUT can be quite confusing. Haha just saying guys ;D

It’s all changed around and it’s to figure when you’ve been at the stardoll hood as long as I have. But it sure looks great, I haven’t found out how to see all of my friends yet, kinda frustrating, but oh well. Maybe you’ll be better at it than me ;D

This Is Not A Test

No really, it isn’t :D I just wanted to write a short post to introduce myself, I’m Cassandra and I’m a new writer here at SFF. Technically I’m not exactly ‘new’, because I’ve had this job for a couple months now, but I realized today that if I didn’t want to get fired, I better do some writing, right? You might want to know what it is exactly that I’m going to be doing here, because I asked myself that same question really, so I’ll tell you. Some of you might remember a post I did a while back on The Stardoll Freakshow where Lou and I put together a ‘Make It Or Fake It’ competition (don’t remember? You’ll find out what it is soon, keep checking back!) but due to obvious reasons we were never able to see that through. Well until now! I’ll also be doing loads of other competitions because well, I like competitions, so why not? I hope you all enjoy them as much as I enjoy putting them together and another huge THANK YOU to Lou and Emma for asking me to join their already amazing team

Stardoll Still Loves DKNY..

 

Even though the DKNY shop may be gone forever, stardoll are still cranking out DKNY items. 

The res dress (sold as seperates) comes from DKNY Resort 2011 and is the only bright coloured outfit in the entire collection which is a little disappointing. The second outfit comes from Cacharel Resort 2011, the whole collection is a whirlwind of prints and colours which mainly consists of dresses.

(DKNY outfit comes to $25, Cacharel outfit comes to $24.)

The Elite Awards?

Yesterday Bruno has his promised press conference, even though I was unable to make it, Lou was there. And after seeing the categories, and the whole press conference this morning I must admit that I was left.. unimpressed. I may come off as a bitch whom you have to be perfect to impress. But honestly, I’m just so bored with the awards. I’ve been around for every award has been  and I mean. They are all the same. Just look at the categories:

Most Loved Famale- 4 nominees

Most Loved Male- 4 nominees

Most Loved User –2 nominees

The Fashion Elite Award- 4 nominees

Biggest Persona- 4 nominees

Drama Queen/King-4 nominees

Interior decorater-4 nominees

Magazine furor – 4 nominees Stardoll Artist-4 nominees

Blog Buzz- 4 nominees

The Elite Award- 8 nominees

There’s only one award that’s new, the last one, where Bruno wrote “The award that everyone wants. This is the award of popularity. The most popular users will be on this category. 4 are choosen by public 2 from previous categories and other 2 by the judges” I honestly have to read that about two or 3 times to understand that, but lets not think about that. Bruno told us at the press conference that “We want to focus more in each user and who that user is to the others”. Hmm I guess that makes sence, and I must give probs that’s a new angle. Maybe Bruno will impress me after all.. just maybe. Anywho, I dislike the fact that a person will get award for causing drama, I mean, won’t it make the person make even more drama?! And I sure as hell hate drama..

But my biggest problem is actually the name of these awards, the Elite Awards? Eh, no. I thought you said the awards were about a person who nicely against another person. And pardon my French, but when I think elite, I think a cold hearted bitch. For me, the name of a project should be the what it’s all about. SFF is called SFF because it’s a fashion blog. If you want to make awards that honour a person that is good towards other, why call it the Elite awards? You want to make them elites?!

Something else that caught Lou’s eye was the fact that there was not a award for best dressed, and after all stardoll is a fashion website, so it seems a bit weird not to have an award for that, no? Bruno gave in, and thanks to Lou, the Elite Awards now have a fashion award. And we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Do you have what it takes?

As many of you probably know, I own Dioguardi Courture with Maggie (Findurlove). This of course, all happent after Manolo Di Cicco left stardoll, and there for leaving us in charge. But also, he left Dioguardi designer-less, a job Maggie and I are not good enough to take on. Which kinda sucks right? A so called fashion company, but without a designer, that’s kinda like.. nothing. Nothing I say! So yeah, as you can see I’m kinda fisked. But that is where you come in! IF you think you have what it takes to take on Manolo’s place and turn Dioguardi from it’s nothing to something, then all you gotta do is freaking draw!

Because we want to give everyone a chance, we’re having a little competition so to speak. All you really have to do is draw a pair of shoes, a bag and a dress. As simple as that, you choose how you want it to look. To enter simply draw the 3 drawings, on paper, scan them, and send it to our email dioguardicouture@hotmail.com, and you have untill July the 15th to enter. It’s as simple as that!
